Editorial Policy

This page sets out the standards News Daily Live holds itself to. It exists so readers know what we will and will not do.

Accuracy comes before speed

We would rather publish an hour late than publish something wrong. A story is published only when the facts in it can be traced to a named, checkable source.

What we require before publishing a claim

We publish a factual claim only when at least one of these is true:

  1. It has been reported by an established news organisation that we name and link to.
  2. It comes from an official source — a court record, a government statement, a police or emergency service release, a company announcement.
  3. It is an on-the-record statement from the person concerned, or their representative.

What we do not publish

  • Claims that a named living person has died, been arrested, been charged, or suffered a serious accident, unless confirmed by an official source or by established news reporting. We do not publish death rumours in any form, including as a question, a “reportedly”, or a report of what is circulating online.
  • Claims sourced only to social media posts, screenshots, anonymous accounts or “reports circulating online”. A rumour being widely shared is not evidence that it is true.
  • Stories written to imply something the facts do not support.
  • Medical, legal or financial claims presented as advice.

Headlines must match the story

A headline states what the article establishes. It does not promise a revelation the article fails to deliver, withhold the central fact to force a click, or use capital letters or repeated punctuation to manufacture urgency.

Opinion, fiction and sponsored content are labelled

Anything that is not reporting is marked as what it is, at the top of the page, before the reader starts.

Use of AI tools

We use software tools to help with drafting, summarising and editing. Every article is reviewed by a person before publication, and the facts in it are checked against the sources named. Responsibility for what appears on this site rests with us, not with any tool.

Images

We use images we own, images licensed for use, or images used with permission. Where an image comes from a third party it is credited. If you believe an image of yours has been used without permission, see our DMCA page — we will remove it.

When we get it wrong

We correct it openly. See our Corrections Policy.
